After passing through this lively market, you will cycle to a nearby residential area across a main road (to be crossed by pushing the bikes with your guide leading) and stop at the bottom of a hillock where you will climb barefoot by a stairway lined with intriguing shrines and curious pagodas and tombs of monks and some members of Burma’s last royal family. You will get to see a few quintessential colonial style monastic buildings where monks live and study. Surrounded by great trees and old buildings this place is sure to enchant and make you feel as if you were thrown back in time to British Raj Era and you will get to see one of the country’s biggest and handsomest Buddhas overlooking the green valley.

Next hop on your bikes again and cycle through some ghetto -like living quarters before paying a deferential visit to the house museum of Bogyoke Aung San, the father of Myanmar Democracy Icon, Aung San Suu Kyi. Next continue your exploration on two wheels through some typical residential areas of Yangonites, have a rest at a local teashop where you will be treated to some local snacks and have an opportunity to rub shoulders with locals. Leave your bikes at the teashop to go and explore the nearby local market to learn of local herbs and vegetables, and other curious food items. Afterwards, hop on your bikes again and cycle through the scenic, peaceful and relaxing parks of Royal Lake before ending up at the eastern approach way of the Shwedagon pagoda where you will stroll up a hill through an interesting alley with intriguing monastic buildings where local pilgrims take lodgings on their pilgrimages. Then riding along the circular road of the great pagoda down the hill and end your enthralling cycling tour of Yangon, past and present!
