We’ll be stopping for lunch beside a large reservoir before continuing to the French colonial town of Battambang. For the brave ones of you amongst us, you’ll even have the chance to sample grilled rats at one of the roadside BBQs. It tastes like chicken!

  • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Accommodation: Classy hotel/ Superior room or similar standard hotel

Day 3: Battambang – Pramouy

After a short cruise out of Battambang, we’ll arrive at Phnom Sampeau: a small mountain that was the main stage of the Khmer Rouge’s major atrocities. We’ll visit the gruesome killing caves and see the guns that the Vietnamese were able to use to stave off the Khmer Rouge after they’d taken hold of the mountain. We have some great riding options for the day ahead of us: ride the trails of ‘Sticky Land’, an area that has rightfully earned that name because of the mud on the ground during the wet season, tackle some difficult, rocky terrain or stick to a winding dirt road that passes over some 50 small bridges.

  • Riding: 135km
  • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Accommodation: Basic guesthouse with private bathroom

Day 4: Pramouy – Koh Kong

We’ll hit a dirt road in the morning that passes through steep hills and provides some breathtaking views of the terrain below. We then have the option of taking some technically challenging routes through the thick jungle or we can stick to Chinese-built mountainous roads and visit a couple of impressive waterfalls along the way. Tonight’s destination is Koh Kong, a riverside town close to the border of Thailand.

  • Riding: 150km
  • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Accommodation: City Koh Kong Hotel / deluxe room or similar standard hotel

Day 5: Koh Kong Islands

Today we’ll take a break from our bikes and hop on a fishing boat to cruise over to Koh Kong Island, where we’ll visit the stilt houses of the fishing villages. We’ll also have the opportunity to kayak through the forests of mangroves.

  • Riding: No
  • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Accommodation: City Koh Kong Hotel / deluxe room or similar standard hotel

Day 6: Koh Kong – Chiphat

This day can be easy or difficult: it’s up to you to decide! The harder option will tackle steep and technically trying, rocky hills, several bridges, river crossings, and some fun single-track trails. The easier route will stick to smoother roads that wind through the mountains and we’ll also visit the impressive Tatai waterfall along the way.

  • Riding: 150km
  • Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
  • Accommodation: Homestay in the village

Day 7: Chiphat – Sihanoukville

We’ll cross the river from Chiphat on small wooden boats in the morning and ride the dirt roads through the sugarcane plantations. We’ll then have the option of sandy, open trails that lead towards the jungle or an easier mix of dirt and tarmac roads. We’ll have lunch at the Kbal Chay waterfall before we continue to our final Destination, namely Sihanoukville. Here, we’ll finish up with some sunset beers on the beach.
