Two days of trekking through the jungle, visiting remote villages, stopping at hidden waterfalls, and staying in a rural homestay. These two days of trekking are for active people who love getting into nature and want to explore the hidden side of Laos. See the different faces of Laos as we trek past rice paddies and farms and immerse ourselves deep into the ancient jungle. Discover the rich cultural heritage of Lao’s ethnic minorities as we learn about the Hmong and Khmu people who have inhabited these mountains for generations. Discover genuine Lao hospitality as you stay with a host family in their home and experience life in an authentic Lao village

Day 1: The uncharted Luang Prabang ( L, D )

8:00 AM pick up from your hotel. We start our trek north of Luang Prabang, in the Khmu-village of Ban Huay Lo. The trail passes through rice paddies, before entering the forest and passing waterfalls. On the way, we visit the Hmong village of Pha Phuang where we have a local lunch. After lunch, we continue trekking through the mountains until we reach the top where we will stay, in a village shared by Khmu and Hmong minorities.  You will learn more about these two cultures from the local villagers who will be our hosts for the homestay tonight.

Day 2: Discovering the tradition of northern flavor ( B, L )

Today, we trek further into the rugged and densely forested mountains west of the Nam Ou valley. A trail leads us through a remote and beautiful bamboo forest and limestone scenery. Lunch is served in a Khmu village. After lunch, we continue trekking by following a local trail. On the way, we will stop at a scenic stream, a perfect place to relax. We continue trekking until we reach a small village where the vehicle is waiting to take us back to Luang Prabang.
