How to Plan China-Laos Train Tour between Kunming and Vientiane
Kunming, the provincial capital of Yunnan Province, is one of the first national historical and cultural cities, the political, economic, cultural, scientific, and technological and transportation center of Yunnan Province, an important tourist and trade city in China, an important central city in the western region and a national first-grade port city. The beautiful natural scenery, splendid historical sites and diverse ethnic customs have made Kunming one of the popular cities for tourism in China. Vientiane is the capital of Laos, the political, economic, and cultural center and the largest city in the country, as well as the only municipality in Laos. Nestled closely on the left bank of the Mekong River, the city stretches from west to east and north, with a wide riverfront boulevard running through the city. On both sides of the street, coconuts, bananas, betel nut, longan, fenugreek and locust plants grow in an intermingling pattern. It is one of the few capitals in the world to be located near a national border, across the river from Nong Khai Province in Thailand.

Kunming-Vientiane Train Schedule
Currently, trains cannot enter Laos Boten Border directly from Mohan Railway Station, reaching Boten Railway Station. Travelers can take train to Mohan Railway Station first, then go to China Mohan Border, handling customs formality and passing through Laos border gate, then go to Boten Railway Station and head for Vientiane by train.

Pu’er | Puer has a long history before 109 BC, which is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province. Xishuangbanna | Xishuangbanna is a name taken from Dai language which means “twelve administrative regions.” Xishuangbanna, the ancient Dai language as “Meng Bala Naxi”, meaning “ideal and magical paradise”, referring to the magical tropical rain forest natural landscape and ethnic customs known for the world, is one of China’s hot tourist cities.
